Between the venue, the vendors, the guest list and relatives with very strong opinions, planning a wedding can feel like a second full-time job. That's where a wedding planner comes in, and here's what it costs to hand over the clipboard.

As of October 2026, a Singapore wedding planner charges a flat fee of about S$890 to S$5,000 for day of coordination, and about S$3,900 to S$9,950 for full planning. Every figure here comes from Singapore vendors' own published price lists, which we checked in October 2026.

Partial planning sits somewhere in between, at about S$1,900 to S$7,950. You'll also hear most planners call the day of package actual day coordination, which is the Singapore name for running the wedding day itself.

How planners package their fees

Wondering why quotes vary so much? Headcount explains a lot of it. The cheapest day packages, at about S$890 and S$2,500, send one coordinator, while packages priced from S$2,500 to S$3,800 send a team of three or four. That's usually a lead coordinator, a bridal assistant who sticks by the bride from morning prep, and an audio-visual (AV) coordinator who looks after the music, slides and microphones.

Hours matter next. A half-day package covers 6 hours and a full day covers 10 to 14 hours.

A Chinese wedding usually needs the full day, since it runs from the gatecrash (the groom's morning games at the bride's home) through the tea ceremony, where you serve tea to your elders, all the way to the evening banquet.

Want more help than just the big day? Partial planning adds vendor sourcing and a few planning meetings, while full planning adds the venue search and budget tracking, often starting about a year before the date.

A few planners charge a share of your budget instead, and one adds 10 per cent of the wedding budget for weddings above S$100,000.

The catch

Overtime is billed by the hour, and a few planners print an overtime rate of S$50 to S$300 for each hour past the package. It adds up quicker than you'd think, because a morning gatecrash and a late banquet can easily push the day past 10 hours. One planner also adds S$100 an hour before 7 am or after midnight, so the early birds and night owls pay a little extra.

Gaps in the day cost money too. One planner charges S$500 when a long break splits the morning tea ceremony from the evening banquet.

Inviting all your relatives? Big weddings need more hands, and one planner suggests an extra coordinator above about 300 guests, at S$240 to S$400 per person.

Location and culture can add to the bill as well. One planner adds S$50 for a Sentosa venue, and one Indian wedding planner prices each event held on a separate day, such as the mehendi (the henna night), at about S$390 to S$790 per event.

Then there's tax. Only a few planners print their prices nett, meaning GST is already included in the fee, so ask about tax on every other quote.

Day-of packages also leave things out. Guest lists, the emcee's script and the venue search usually sit on your plate.

Vendor money is the last catch. Pay each vendor yourself where you can, so no vendor is left unpaid because a payment stopped with the planner.

Five questions to ask before paying a deposit

  • How many coordinators will be on site on the day?
  • How many hours does the package cover?
  • What is the charge for each extra hour?
  • Do you take a commission or referral fee from any vendor you recommend?
  • Will I pay each vendor directly, or through you?

When to book

Most coordination packages start work one to three months before the wedding, but you'll want to book well before that. Full planning kicks off even earlier, at 6 to 15 months before the big day, and auspicious Saturday dates are always the first to go.

Here's why timing matters so much. A coordination team can only run one wedding a day, so once another couple books your date, that team is off the table.

Is a wedding planner worth it in Singapore?

It usually is when your day has a tea ceremony, a solemnisation, and a banquet in different places. The hotel banquet manager runs the venue's service, not your programme, so a day-of team lets your family attend instead of working.

Do wedding planners take commission from vendors?

Here's one that's worth knowing. Some planners earn a commission or referral fee from the vendors they recommend, so ask about it before you pay the deposit, and get the answer in writing. That way you'll know whether that "amazing" florist was picked for your sake or theirs.

What does a day-of coordinator actually do?

A day of coordinator takes over your run sheet in the final weeks and then runs it on the day itself. The team briefs your vendors, cues the emcee and music, keeps the bride on time and sorts out problems before they ever reach you. All you have to do is show up, look fabulous and enjoy every minute.
